complex sentences
- A complex sentence is either a dependent or independent sentence. It could also have both of them in the sentence.
- An independent clause is a sentence that starts with while, although, until, as if, wherever, since, or as long as. It also doesn't have a comma in the sentence.
- A dependent clause is a sentence that starts with a subordinating conjunction such as, as soon as, before, if, becuase, though, whenever, where, unless, or after. This kind of sentence has to have a comma in it.
As soon as you get home, please do the dishes.Unless you don't like it, eat it.Because of the concert, you need to dress nice.Please do the dishes as soon as you get homeEat it unless you don't like it.You need to dress nice becuase of the concert.
