Compound And Simple Sentences

What is a simple sentence?
A simple sentence is a sentence that has one independent clause and no comma or conjunction.

What is a compound sentence?
A compound sentence is a sentence that has two independent clauses, a comma, and a conjunction.

Simple Sentence:

I went hunting this weekend. 
My cousin shot an eight pointer.
I was very cold. 

Compound sentence:
We only saw a four pointer, and about 8 does.
Opening day was very windy, and cold the next day was in the negatives.
Mr. Thick is a very large ten pointer, it weighs around 200 plus pounds.
