complex sentences

What is a complex sentence? This sentence usually includes a subordinating conjunction, it also includes an independent clause and a dependent clause. They use a comma between each clauses too. What is an independent clause? Independent makes it a sentence. What is a dependent clause? The dependent clause needs the independent clause to make the sentence make sense. Use the word subordinating conjunction. Use of a comma. Sentence 1: When people go to the grocery store,they buy groceries. Sentence 2: When Alec opens his mouth, he will talk. Sentence 3: Although Mrs.Shmidt moved Alec he still talks. When you don't need a comma. Sentence 1: When my dogs bark. Sentence 2: If I go to school. Sentence 3: When I sit down.
